Plot

Absolver is a game based on martial arts. The players control warriors that fight computer-controlled characters. The game is set in the land of Adal where the characters are to prove their competence and worthiness to be among the Absolver peacekeepers. The storyline is based on the development of these characters as they fight in the hope of finding a place in the collapsed empire.

The Guides, the new rulers of Adal, monitor the character as they progress through the barren lands to realize their goal of joining the Absolvers. In their journey, they learn new skills and acquire better weapons and equipment.

Fighting styles

At the beginning of the game, players can choose one of three fighting styles:

  • Forsaken: This fighting skill is balanced yet powerful. The character can parry the opponent’s attacks and similarly stun enemies for a brief moment.
  • Kahit: With this style, the character can absorb hits without getting stunned or pushed. Moreover, one can regain health with each completed counter attack.
  • Windfall: This style has an amplified dexterity combined with will. The character can avoid attacks and subsequently expose the enemies to powerful counter attacks.

Gameplay

The game embeds a world integrated with free-roaming and myriads of shortcuts. Moreover, players can merge single, competitive and co-op play within the same campaign. Similarly, the game offers you the capacity of building custom combinations of parries, feints, and strikes. The warriors are known as prospects and as aforementioned are on a quest to become members of the peacekeepers.

Fighting moves can be customized in the “combat deck” of cards. Each card is assigned a particular move. Players can earn equipment, weapons, and cards as they progress through the game. During combat, players can alternate between four different fighting stances. Each stance has two offensive moves with specific controller buttons. The moves encompassed in each stance are such that the player can maneuver between the stances during a single attack. Consequently, the prospect can break the guard of the opponent.

Multiplayer, PvP and PvE

Absolver has online multiplayer attributes that enable players to fight alongside each other on various endeavors. The mode also allows a player Vs. Player matches. It further goes ahead to enhance the experience as players can spar with each other and learn the fighting of the converse character. The multiplayer battle encounters are marked with tense moments as the intentions are undefined. The lines are a blur as one doesn’t know if friendship, trade or battle is sought.

The game features dedicated various PvP battle arenas in which the champions receive the spoils of the victories and progressively move higher in the absolver ranks. Additionally, the game has PvE dungeons where the players battle cooperatively to retrieve scarce, rare equipment and loot. They are retrieved from the deep mines of Adal.

The game provides a platform for those that want to prove their fighting skills. With fine balances, martial art fans will love this game!
