Assassin’s Creed II was a Ubisoft Montreal masterpiece that has upheld the test of time, popularizing the franchise to the gaming universe. The game has written its name in the upper echelons of gaming history. Brotherhood joined the fraternity a year after and set on the difficult task of demonstrating its value to the open world expansion that the Assassin’s world has majestically crafted.
As opposed to shifting the scene of the game to a different location and age, it proceeds on from the previous game, in Renaissance Italy, with the action moving in its entirety to Rome. The game focuses on the ongoing fight between the Assassins and Templars. Gamers are again cast as the virtual character of the master assassin Ezio Auditore who picks up right from the end of Assassin’s Creed II. Throughout the game, the player alternates between Ezio and the present-day Desmond Miles. The player is therefore transported from bearing the finesse of a sword in the gorgeous setting of Rome, to terrifying and nerve breaking missions as Desmond as the player time-bends through eras.
More than just an Assassin’s Creed 2.5
This game is vast, and even though it only encompasses Rome, it still feels colossal in contrast to the other games. Ubisoft was exceptional in including enough activities within the primary mission, challenging side-missions, and a multiplayer mode that is exceptionally fun.
The multiplayer mode is designed as a training routine where one will try and assassinate other gamers in various maps taken from the series. Hunting down targets stealthily offers quite the suspense when engaging in this mode as one is juggling between assassinating and avoiding assassination from other players. The multiplayer is holding deeper meaning and concept as well through cash rewards that one can also use to enhance one’s character.
New tweaks and features
Where Assassin’s Creed II bound the economy and city-building parts of Monteriggioni, Brotherhood explodes it to incorporate the whole of Rome. All through the city are Borgia towers, which house whole missions all by themselves. Each tower has a Captain who must be killed before you can scale the tower and set it on fire, freeing the general population of the zone from the Borgia’s tyrannical rule. Once freed, shops, transportation center points, and banks can be revamped at the correct cost. These structures create income for the player and fuel the building works throughout different regions of the city.
Create an army of professional killers
Effectively the most engaging addition to Brotherhood is the capacity for the player to assemble his/her organization of deadly assassins. Group building will give you a chance to deal with professional killers, and you can send them on missions, select skill focuses, or even pick their appearances. The assassins you enroll are not bound to certain contracts, so they can be replaced.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood comes across as a revamp to its predecessor. However, it is a game that adds elements much appreciated by the world of Assassin’s Creed.
