Will you fight for peace with free will, or desire peace through control?

Navigate through the densely populated, brilliantly designed and visually stunning New Orleans in the year 1768 when it was a French colony, moving through its period of Spanish rule. The game follows the century-old struggle between the Assassins and the Templars. This time, on the hands of a new cunning female assassin, a first in the series.

Born into a family torn apart by slavery, Aveline chases the memories of her lost mother

Meet the protagonist, Aveline de Grandpré, an African-French Assassin, daughter of a noble French merchant and his slave-turned-wife. She lived a very privileged life as the daughter of a nobleman, due to her mother becoming a plaçee, freeing herself from slavery. Born into a family torn apart by slavery, Aveline chases the memories of her lost mother. Shortly after her biological mother’s disappearance, she was recruited into the Assassin Brotherhood. And there she met her mentor, Agate.

The story advances with you meeting a mysterious individual, known only as the “Company Man”, the man behind orchestrating a complex slave trafficking operation. Aveline cannot tolerate the injustice and cruelty being inflicted on her fellow African descendants. She simply refuses to sit on the sidelines. This is what brings Aveline out of a life of luxury and into the shady world of murder and lies; unknowingly starting a journey that will challenge her beliefs and test her loyalties.

Aveline will take you into her multifaceted world living as a noble lady, a slave, and a notorious assassin.

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation features weapons from the previous installments, with new ones introduced such as sugar cane machete, pistols, blowpipes, and grenades. It also introduces a new mechanic in the form of chain-kill, where you can take out multiple opponents at once, or can be used when you are simply in the need of quick escape. You will never be short on options in eliminating foes, but as always, choose wisely, as stealth is a key element to the game.

Aveline will take you into her multifaceted world living as a noble lady, a slave, and a notorious assassin. Yes, she can kick ass in all her finery! No one else could play the part being able to associate with all elements of society through embracing the guises of both a highborn lady and a low-born slave. This is the distinguishing feature in this game – Aveline’s three personas. Each persona comes with benefits and drawbacks as well as its own notoriety meter to let you know how much the guards will be watching you.

Feel the weight of your race and gender intricately weaving along your adventures.

Moreover, stumble upon intense emotional jolts as you succumb into the pages from the diary of Aveline’s mother, and feel the weight of your race and gender intricately weaving along your adventures. From helping runaway slaves escape to their freedom and displaying women in a weak role, the game’s theme is not too far from humanity’s own reality and history. The title itself is already a giveaway of the game’s nature.

Witness the birth of video games’ next great heroine!

And you might be left thinking if her father had not freed her mother, would she still be in the same predicament? Witness an astounding addition to the stellar Assassin’s Creed series and the birth of video games’ next great heroine! Play it smart, stay hidden, and you will be rewarded.
