Forza Motorsport 6 is a car racing video game developed by Turn 10 Studios, who were also the creators behind the previous Forza titles, and published by Microsoft Windows for the Xbox One platform, and was released on this platform on 15 September 2015 in North America and 18 September 2015 in Europe. A free-to-play version of the game, titled Forza Motorsport 6: Apex was released for download on the Microsoft Windows Store on 7 September 2016. Forza Motorsport is the sixth game in the Motorsport franchise and the eighth game overall in the Forza franchise.
Forza Motorsport 6 introduces the biggest racing world in the history of the franchise and potentially the entire gaming industry. In this title, the scale of detail and content has been filled to the brim, and players will find more gameplay value than ever before. Forza Motorsport 6 now features over 450 cars from authentic brands around the world, all of which are at the players’ disposal, and 27 racing tracks in total, 7 of which are completely new to the series. With a renewed groundbreaking engine and updated crystal-clear graphics, Forza Motorsport 6 provides an immersion like never before.
Forza Motorsport 6 adds several new elements to the series by a huge margin. New additions to the game include a night and rain mode, which is so masterfully crafted it increases your sense of driving a car while the rain is splattering around you in a shiny haze of slippery roads and cloud-covered environments make this game one of the best graphical masterpieces to date. Turn 10 this time has put all their effort into improving previous aspects if the previous games. The sound effects are more polished than ever before, the special effects are on points, and the physics behind the movement, thrust, friction, jump, slide, brake, and drift is right on point with a heavily improved physics engines and mechanics, not to mention a graphics engine that never fails to remain constant at around 60 frames per second (fps).
But it’s not just gameplay that is that makes Forza Motorsport 6 so great. There’s tons of content for the player to go through: from the exceptionally long campaign Career mode with over 50 hours of gameplay to the multiplayer mode with 24 live players around the world in a single track racing for victory. Players can provide modifications to the cars too, from their structure to their color to make it look exactly how they want. Players can also use points collected from the career mode to build and buy upgrades for their vehicles, however, these upgrades don’t apply to the multiplayer so that every player on the track has the same assets at hand, and winning depends solely on how you maneuver around everyone, making use of every nook and cranny to gain an advantage above others.
No main sequels to the game have been released or announced. However, a sequel to its spin-off Horizon series, titled Forza Horizon 3 was released on September 27, 2016.
