MySims was developed by EA Redwood Shores and published by Electronic Arts. The game was initially launched for the Nintendo DS and Wii in 2007, but later it was released for Microsoft Windows and Mobile Phone in 2008.

The developers of MySims made the game more kid-friendly and for everyone, while still keeping the core of the initial “Sims”. Following the success of the first game in the series, the developers decided to make five sequels.

At first glance, the main story looks quite simple. The player is tasked with the challenge to restore a zero-star town to a five-star rating town. In order to achieve that, the player has to build houses, construct buildings, search for resources, form relationships with local townsfolk, and more.

MySims allows the player’s imagination to run wild. The player can create restaurants, flower shops, laboratories, and more. On top of that, the player is able to shape the design of the town by adding more establishments.

The game starts with the character creation process. Unfortunately, the player cannot individually tweak facial eyes, noses, or mouths, but what the player can do is choose from the variety of already made presets for his character.

In the Wii version, there 80 characters with whom the player can interact. However, there are only 30 characters in the Nintendo DS version. Some of those characters are magicians, pizza chef, scientist, martial arts teacher, and more. They give various tasks for the player, such as building a restaurant for a pizza chef, construct a dance club for a DJ, or even build furniture for another Sim. To top it all off, the build process is uncomplicated and straightforward. The player just needs to collect some essences and bring them back the workshop.

The whole game is designed so the player has the maximum freedom possible. Every item that the player constructs can be designed by his own style. For example, the player can put a flower pattern on pretty much every creation he makes. There are little to no limitations when it comes to designing and creating the items.

The player is also encouraged to form relationships with the other Sim characters. Once becoming a best friend with a character, the player will earn a special blueprint that is not available anywhere else in the game. The player can also learn a style of clothing for their wardrobe.

The before mentioned sequels are MySims Kingdom, MySims Party, MySims Racing, My Sims Agents, and MySims SkyHeroes. All of these sequels add a vast number of new stories and characters in the game.

Get MySims now and add a bright and promising future to a struggling town, or help a desperate king to bring happiness in his kingdom, or enter festivals and parties to bring new people into a deadbeat town, or race with go-karts. The player can even take on the role of a special agent and build up a team by recruiting different MySims characters in order to tackle the crimes in the city. Last but not least, in MySims SkyHeroes the player can fly a plane and tackle various bosses with other players in a local co-op or online multiplayer mode.
